The Ancient Walls Of Castillo San Cristobal

A glimpse of the past in the heart of the modern redeveloped Plaza de España. The remains of the old defensive city walls of San Cristobal castle have been preserved and are now presented with a full story of the areas history. The underground gallery is accessed from a small doorway on the port side of the Plaza de España, once inside display boards and maps in several languages bring the history of Santa Cruz to life and you can also see the Tiger canon that played such a big part in repelling the attempted invasion of Lord Nelson.

The FREE attraction is open in July, August and September from 11 am to 7 pm everyday except Tuesday. The rest of the year it opens from 10 am to 8 pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
